Jocelynn Hawkins has an over 30-year banking career in the Alberta and BC Credit Union System, Jocelynn made a jump to FINTECH’s about 10 yrs ago. Since then, Jocelynn has worked with numerous startup’s focused on online based consumer loans and/or credit/prepaid card issuing in Canada & the USA. Jocelynn has a Greenbelt in Lean Philosophies from Lean Sensi, Vancouver. Working with numerous development teams & vendors she has a passion for agile methodologies to bring products to life. With vendors including Issuing & Processing banks in Canada & USA, she has launched consumer loan & card products to the market in various forms.

(Alex) Yin Liang is a dynamic financial services executive with over 20 years of experience in wealth management—spanning public markets, private assets, and real estate—as well as institutional asset management, business development, and strategic leadership. Most recently, she served as Director of Credit Union Distribution at Aviso Wealth, where she led national initiatives across more than 40 credit unions and 250 branches. In this role, she partnered with C-suite executives, financial advisors, and cross-functional teams to accelerate growth, elevate the member experience, and drive innovation within the credit union ecosystem. A Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Responsible Investment Specialist (RIS), Yin is widely recognized for her values-based leadership, client-centric approach, and deep expertise in both investment and insurance strategies. Her career also includes impactful leadership roles at Home Equity Bank, BMO Wealth Management, and MD Financial Management, where she consistently surpassed targets and empowered high-performing advisory teams. Yin holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and is a passionate advocate for financial inclusion, impact investing, and community development. Beyond her professional work, she is a dedicated mentor, public speaker, and active contributor to initiatives that support diverse entrepreneurs, financial literacy, and sustainable finance across Canada.

Andrew Gregson, B.A (Hons.), M.A., M.Sc.(Econ.)

Andrew Gregson is a graduate of the London School of Economics in the UK, Western University and Simon Fraser University. After a few years in management in the manufacturing and financial sector, Andrew pursued an operations career. Several years later, Andrew founded the first of 5 businesses in Canada, including 2 franchises. After 15 years of building successful companies, Andrew sold to follow a career as a business consultant. For the past 20 years Andrew has used his experience and knowledge to help 80 high tech manufacturers, startups, service and distribution companies with the tools of his experience - profit generation, finance, management metrics, and above all pricing strategies to improve cash flow and make a profit. Andrew has worked in England, Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. In 2008, Andrew published the bestselling Pricing Strategies for Small Business which is widely available in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and India. The book embodies the experience and wisdom of multiple industries and teaches the owners of small business how to improve profits. In 2019 Andrew published the Dark Art of Pricing – Deliberately Pricing for Profit, a grittier approach to the tough topic of pricing. Andrew is a contributor to a long list of business journals, to CBC National Radio, has lectured at multiple colleges in British Columbia and University in Nova Scotia, and is a frequent keynote speaker with business groups. Andrew has wide industry experience, and the stories gathered in decades of practical experience are brought to bear in his lectures and workshops on business, making them fun and relevant.

Ted Pahl

Ted is passionate about Credit Unions, having served within the credit union system across Canada for over 25 years. Most recently he was the CEO of North Peace Savings in northern BC; and helped guide the credit union through a successful merger. Ted has served as CEO for three credit unions from coast to coast holding the role of CEO for credit unions in Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan. Through his experiences and education, Ted has become a transformational leader in the Credit Union industry with a proven record of success. A charismatic culture and relationship builder as well as a big-picture thinker. Ted leads by example, fostering open communication and mentorship to empower his team to achieve the vision. Community has always been a passion for Ted, he actively served the community, serving as a first responder with his local fire department, and as a paramedic with BC ambulance. He also provided service in an elected municipal capacity as a director on the Regional District board and as Mayor of the Village of Warfield in southern BC. Ted also has extensive board level experience service including board positions with the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, League Data, CUES advisory council, CU Financial Management, Ficanex, Cooperative Development Foundation and the Kootenay hospital board. In addition, he was a committee member and volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House board in Halifax NS. Ted holds a graduate certificate in executive coaching from Royal Roads University.

Doug Eveneshen

Active with a successful consulting practice, Doug facilitates strategic planning, board governance workshops, facilitation of merger & acquisitions, due diligence, enterprise risk management, among other areas of expertise (https://eveneshen.com/). Doug is the former CEO of two smaller financial institutions in Canada, with over 40 years in the financial services sector. His responsibility has included the full operational responsibility for retail lending, commercial banking, IT, human resources, cash and treasury management, and regional responsibility for a chartered bank sales team. Doug has an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. In addition, Doug is a Certified Credit Union Director, granted through Credit Union Executive Society and the Rotman School of Business. Doug also has a Diploma of Technology from BCIT among several other certificates. Doug is active in the communities as the Past Chair of the Board of Governors for BC Institute of Technology and the Royal Columbia Hospital Foundation.

Ray Basi, B.A. Hons.
First Class (Criminology), LL.B., J.D.

Ray brings a broad and deep background in law and related fields, with experience in both legal practice and education. His interest in the field began in high school, where a law course and encouragement from his teacher prompted him to pursue a career in the area. He earned a First-Class Honours B.A. in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. His undergraduate thesis was considered a leading work in the area of prostitution law reform. The supervising professor noted it would have earned an A at even the M.A. level and submitted it to the House of Commons committee reviewing Canada’s prostitution laws. After completing his law degree at the University of Victoria, Ray was in private practice for about 16 years, focusing in part on wills and estate matters. He later joined the public service, spending four years as a government employee and concluding that chapter as Director of Information and Privacy for four provincial ministries. He then became the Head of Information and Privacy at the Financial Institutions Commission of BC (FICOM), the predecessor of the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA). While in this role, Ray accepted an offer to become Director of Education and Policy for both the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association of BC (CMBA-BC) and the Mortgage Brokers Institute of BC (MBIBC). Over the next 11 years he wrote, spoke, and taught extensively on mortgage brokering issues. Ray since founded Mortgage Brokers Education by Ray Basi (MBERB), where he supports the professional development of mortgage brokers. Throughout his career, Ray has developed skills in quickly absorbing complex information, identifying key issues, designing and implementing practical solutions, and communicating clearly with both technical and general audiences. He also brings a solid understanding of both governmental and legal processes.

Derrick Gaon
